Centre has sanctioned Rs 56 crore for development of Mata Chintpurni temple: Deputy CM
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that the Union Government had sanctioned Rs 56.26 crore for the development of Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD). He was speaking at Tahliwal village after dedicating to the public a four-storey fire post built at a cost of Rs 4 crore in the Tahliwal industrial area of the Haroli Assembly segment.
Agnihotri said that the funds received under the PRASAD scheme would be utilised for propagating the religious and spiritual heritage of the state. He added that the hill state was also known as the abode of deities. Besides, another Rs 350 crore was being spent on the beautification of Mata Chintpurni temple and providing better services to devotees coming to pay obeisance there.
He said that the state government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore for infrastructure development and providing amenities to the devotees at Mata Naina Devi temple. He added that the fire post having two firefighting vehicles would be upgraded to a fire sub station and the decision would be taken at the next meeting of the Cabinet.
Agnihotri said that the proposed fire sub station would have three firefighting vehicles, duty room, workshop, control room, barracks and a dining hall for firefighters, besides a covered parking space for vehicles. He added that Tahliwal police station would also be provided with a permanent building. He directed the Una SP to identify a suitable government land for the police station building.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a 4.25-km link road to be constructed from Sri Gidgida Sahib to Shri Tahli Sahib and from the Haroli main road to Shri Baba Bharathari temple, Panjuana and Baliwal villages at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
He said that the road network in the Haroli segment was being strengthened to provide better connectivity to local residents. Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission Kuldip Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal and SP Rakesh Singh accompanied Agnihotri.
