Solan, December 16

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today laid the foundation stone of Rs 85 crore centre of excellence for tourism, hospitality and information technology at gram panchayat Chausha near Waknaghat.

Thakur said it would have an information technology centre, centre of excellence for tourism and hospitality, training hotel, teaching staff residence, students hostel, staff quarters and directors residence. It would produce trained youth as per the demand of the industry and would be constructed with pre-fabricated structures. Its construction would be completed by June, 2022.

“The centre would meet the demand of high end information technology skills such as analytics, robotics and artificial intelligence, etc. It would also provide incubation services to the new entrepreneurs of the state,” informed the CM.

Technical Education and Information Technology Minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda said this would be the fourth such centre in the country and it would be completed within 18 months.
