The Himachal Pradesh Joint Employees Federation has urged the Central Government to release Rs 9,200 crore held by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) for New Pension Scheme employees. The demand was raised during the executive meeting of the federation held today under the chairmanship of its president Virender Chauhan.

During the meeting, Chauhan said if this amount is transferred to the state government, it would help clear the pending dues of employees, which exceed Rs 10,000 crore.

Besides, demands regarding providing career advancement schemes for college and university teachers on the lines of UGC, restoring pensions for employees who were excluded from the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) — particularly employees in the State Electricity Board, corporations and district council members, filling of vacant posts across all departments, boards, and corporations.
