Organised by the Chail Alumni (RMS) Association, the rally — titled “Ek Ride Bichhade Saathiyon aur Staff ke Naam” — paid tribute to the school’s heroes, including Capt GS Salaria, PVC, and Lt Gen Ranjit Singh Dyal, MVC. Twenty Georgian riders participated in the commemorative journey, which began in Delhi on August 21. The rally was flagged off at the Rashtriya Samar Smarak by Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor, AVSM, VM, an alumnus of RMS Chail, before proceeding through Pathankot and Panchkula.

This morning, the rally was flagged off from Pinjore after a halt at the residence of Gen Dyal in Panchkula, honouring his unparalleled courage and pivotal role in the capture of the Hajipir Pass during the 1965 India-Pakistan war. The route also covered significant memorials, including Capt GS Salaria, PVC, Senior Secondary School at Jangal, Pathankot, where relatives of Capt Salaria joined in the tribute.

Through the ride, alumni not only remembered their fallen comrades but also reaffirmed the values of courage, service and camaraderie that RMS Chail has upheld for a century.

Established in 1925 as King George Royal Indian Military School in Jalandhar, RMS Chail is the oldest military school in India. Later relocated to Nowgong and finally to Chail in 1960, it remains a cradle of leadership and service. Together with its sister institutions in Ajmer, Belgaum, Bangalore and Dholpur, it forms the family of Rashtriya Military Schools, whose cadets proudly bear the name “Georgians.”
