The “Brave Hearts” Memorial is set to be inaugurated at Rashtriya Military School (RMS), Chail, on February 25, in tribute to five former students who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. The ceremony, which would take place on the school premises, is set to be be graced by Major General JS Mangat, VSM, GOC PH&HP (I) Sub Area Commander and Chairman of the school’’s Local Board of Administration, as the chief guest.
The event would see the unveiling of busts honouring Captain Gur Bachan Singh Salaria (Param Vir Chakra, posthumous), Second Lieutenant Surinder Pal Singh Sekhon (Vir Chakra, posthumous), Kanwar Jaideep Singh (Shaurya Chakra Bar), Lieutenant Commander Shwet Gupta (Nau Sena Medal), and Captain Anshuman Singh (Kirti Chakra).
This occasion would also be a key highlight in RMS Chail’s centenary celebrations. As the school marks its second century, the unveiling of the “Brave Hearts” Memorial would add a significant chapter to its legacy of courage, patriotism and sacrifice. The memorial would showcase the busts of these five martyrs, each symbolising extraordinary heroism and dedication to the nation.
The event would not only honour the school’s distinguished history built upon the sacrifices of its alumni but would also inspire future cadets to lead lives defined by duty, service and selflessness.
