Government Postgraduate College, Chamba, has announced the launch of four new postgraduate courses: Master of Commerce, Master of Arts in Sociology, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application. The college, previously recognised mainly for undergraduate and traditional postgraduate courses, is now stepping into the field of professional education. This move offers local students an opportunity to pursue higher studies in business and computer applications without leaving the district.

Principal Dr Madan Guleria emphasised that the new courses are a significant academic achievement and will greatly benefit students, especially those unable to afford education outside Chamba due to financial or family constraints. He added that this initiative will help students save time, money and resources while accessing quality education in their own region.

Applications for the MBA and MCA programmes will begin online on Wednesday and remain open until August 5. Offline counselling sessions will be held on August 6 and 7 at the college campus. The first and second merit lists will be released on August 8 and August 11, respectively. Each course will have 40 seats and the annual fee has been fixed at Rs 35,000. For MCom and MA Sociology, the application process is already underway.
