Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal presided over a review meeting to assess the progress of various ongoing projects under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund in the district. During the meeting, he directed the timely completion of pending projects under this fund.
Emphasising the completion of projects pending since the financial year 2021-22, the DC prioritised retrofitting works in educational and healthcare institutions. He also instructed officials to adhere to the designs and estimates prepared by experts from the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh, for these retrofitting projects.
While reviewing the progress of various disaster mitigation projects undertaken by the Public Works and Jal Shakti departments, Repaswal directed officials to expedite land demarcation for flood protection works at Banikhet Nullah.
During the meeting, departmental officials reported that the first phase of land conservation work in Motla village under Siunta tehsil had been completed. The DC also reviewed over 19 ongoing projects, including landslide prevention works on National Highway 154-A at Mehla Ghar and Mohalla Pakka Tala, flood protection work at Bairagarh Upper and Lower, Jatrun-Trimath, Saloh, Durgethi Nala, as well as land conservation efforts at Kalighar and the Dramanal link road.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra, District Revenue Officer Vikramjeet Singh, and Executive and Assistant Engineers from the Jal Shakti and Public Works departments were also present at the meeting.
