Chamba hospital to be provided modern medical equipment
Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil today directed the officials concerned to ensure total transparency in the purchase of world-class healthcare machinery and other medical equipment so that the people of the state could be provided the best services.
Shandil presided over a meeting of the Special High-Powered Purchase Committee here. The committee gave approval for the purchase of five Phaco machines at an estimated cost of around Rs 30 lakh. It also approved amendments for expediting the process of procuring digital radiography machine, high-resolution colour doppler ultrasound and a digital mammography machine for Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba.
The committee also approved the recommendations of the Cabinet Technical Sub-Committee for the purchase of various machinery and equipment for Adarsh Swasthya Sansthans.
The minister said, “The government is tirelessly working to provide quality health infrastructure and services through Adarsh Swasthya Sansthans set up in around 50 Assembly constituencies of the state having six specialist doctors in each institution.”
He said that Adarsh Sewa Sansthans would be set up in all 68 Assembly constituencies in a phased manner. “The purchase of modern medical equipment is underway to strengthen healthcare institutions in Himachal Pradesh. Once equipped with adequate and latest modern machinery, these institutions will be able to provide quality treatment to people near their homes,” he added.
