Chamba Major awarded prestigious Sena Medal
Chamba district is beaming with pride as Major Ojaswi Sharma, a native of Mohalla Hardaspura in Chamba town, has been conferred with the esteemed Sena Medal by President Droupadi Murmu on the 76th Republic Day. Major Sharma, serving in the 21 Rajputana Rifles, demonstrated extraordinary courage, professionalism and dedication while executing high-risk missions in Arunachal Pradesh.
A distinguished NCC cadet, Major Sharma gained national recognition as the All India Best Cadet at the Republic Day Parade in 2016. He also participated in the Youth Exchange Programme in Kazakhstan the same year. Commissioned into the Indian Army on March 9, 2016, Major Sharma has consistently shown exceptional valour and dedication to duty.
His mother, Neena Sharma, runs the Kamla Memorial School at Jhakri in Rampur subdivision of Shimla district. The family is proud of his achievements, which have brought honour to their hometown and inspired many. The Sena Medal is awarded to Army personnel for individual acts of gallantry or distinguished service of significant importance, making Major Ojaswi Sharma’s honour a testament to his exemplary service to the nation.
