Chamba MLA reviews progress of road, water, school projects

Chamba legislator Neeraj Nayar on Friday presided over a review meeting to evaluate the progress of various development works being undertaken by different departments. The meeting was attended by officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Jal Shakti Department, Education Department, Health Department, Ayush Department, Department of Animal Husbandry, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Rural Development Department, Electricity Department, and Forest Department and others.

Key initiatives such as road and bridge construction under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-3, NABARD and Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) Scheme, besides potable water supply projects, developmental works related to the Government Medical College, Chamba, construction of school buildings, electrification projects under HPSEBL and various development activities of the Chamba Municipal Council were reviewed in detail during the meeting.

The upcoming Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School in Chamba district also featured prominently in discussions. MLA Neeraj Nayar gave instructions to departmental officials, while emphasising on the need for efficient coordination and timely completion of projects to ensure that public benefits from these initiatives without any delay.

He urged officials to organise awareness camps in the rural and remote areas of the district to educate the public about the government’s welfare schemes, policies, and programmes. The MLA said no eligible individual should miss out on the benefits of schemes and programmes due to lack of information.

Nayar announced that such review meetings would be held every three months to monitor the progress of ongoing projects and assess the implementation of decisions taken in previous meetings.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal assured the MLA that all departmental officials would diligently fulfil their responsibilities in line with the government’s expectations and as pre directives issued during the meeting.
