The Chandigarh-Manali highway was blocked for traffic movement near Pandoh in Mandi district today evening after a massive landslide. As a result, traffic has come to a standstill between Mandi and Kullu. Long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the landslide spot as travellers have been stuck since evening.

The NHAI has engaged its machinery and workforce to clear the debris from the road and the highway was expected to be restored for normal traffic after a few hours. The police have diverted traffic via Kataula between Mandi and Kullu.

SP, Mandi, Shalini Agnihotri said that police personnel have been deployed on the spot to regulate traffic. People traveling between Mandi and Kullu area have been advised to take alternative route till the restoration of the highway.
