Rohru has immense potential from the tourism point of view and the government has decided to develop Chanshal as a ski and winter sports destination under the Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein programme, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while interacting with people of Rohru through video conference from Shimla today.

Thakur said that the appointment of Shashibala as the chairperson of HP State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank Ltd (HPSCARDB) was aimed at providing proper representation to the people of the area. He said that the state government was ensuring that there was no paucity of funds for development.

He said that the apple season was underway and the government had directed the officers to ensure adequate arrangements to facilitate apple growers.
