Shimla: Chaura Maidan college students excel in 5-km marathon, bag top three positions

Students of Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate College (GCCM), Chaura Maidan, Shimla, delivered an outstanding performance by winning top positions in the 5-km marathon race organised under the Red Ribbon Youth Fest, jointly conducted by the Himachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society and the Chief Medical Officer. The race route extended from Chaura Maidan to Summer Hill.

Three boys and two girls from Rajiv Gandhi Government College participated in the marathon. The top three positions in the boys were secured by Jatin, Ram Kishan and Ram Roop, respectively.

College principal Gopal Chauhan congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement and said such events not only promoted social awareness and health consciousness among students but also contributed to their holistic development.

He also highlighted the importance of providing accurate information and raising awareness among the youth about AIDS and HIV.

PD Kaushal (dean, Student Welfare), Rakesh Sharma (convener, Research & Development Cell) and Neena (convener, Red Ribbon Club) also expressed their happiness over the students’ achievement and extended their best wishes for their bright future.
