Solan, April 24

In a bid to effectively check the spread of Covid-19, the District Magistrate, Solan, has directed all private practitioners and chemists to provide information about people approaching them with symptoms like fever, tiredness, dry cough, aches, pain, runny nose, sore throat and diarrhoea on a daily basis. DM, Solan, KC Chaman said information regarding symptoms should be communicated to the health authorities as well as the district administration by the chemists and all private practitioners. This information should be communicated to the SPs and the chief medical officer at Solan in a prescribed format.

“Concealing such information will be considered a punishable offence and a case would be registered against those violating these orders,” said Baddi SP Rohit Malpani.

There are about 90 retail chemists in the vulnerable Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial belt where nine Covid-19 positive cases were detected. Three of the nine cases had been cured while four others had migrated to Delhi and the remaining two are under treatment at ESIC hospital, Katha, in Barotiwala, informed health officials.
