“A government which has failed to undertake development in it’s about four-year stint in Arki was now misleading the voters and asking for another chance. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today attacked the BJP government on the issue of price rise and for misleading the people on false poll promises.
Addressing a poll rally at Arki in favour of Congress nominee Sanjay Awasthi he said, “People will give a befitting reply to the BJP as the government has failed to check price rise. The BJP was merely favouring the corporate houses while caring little for the common man.”
He recalled the former Arki MLA and six-term CM Virbhadra Singh’s contribution and said “Works initiated by Virbhadra Singh have to be taken forwarded and completed” while urging the people to vote for Awasthi.
Congress state in-charge Rajiv Shukla said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was merely indulging in rhetoric while failing to undertake development on the ground.
Awasthi listed the failures of the BJP government and said, “Transporters who suffered during the pandemic failed to get any interest subvention while corporate houses were doled out hefty loan subsidies. What morality does the BJP have in seeking votes from the transporters when their interests were not protected,” he asked.
“A government which has failed to undertake development in it’s about four-year stint in Arki was now misleading the voters and asking for another chance. No jobs have been given on compassionate basis by the state government and people were agitating for their rights,” he added.
“I’ve toured 72 panchayats of the segment where only developmental works initiated by former CM Virbhadra Singh were visible,” said Awasthi who added that anganwari and Asha workers and daily wagers were arranged to show crowds during poll rallies,” he said.
He sought the people’s support and said he had lost narrowly in 2012 as the party failed to project a united image but today all leaders were united.
