Chief Secy reviews functioning of Tanda medical college
Assures principal, faculty members of speedy resolution of long-pending issues
Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta along with DGP Ashok Tiwari, Health Secretary M. Sudha Devi, Director Health Services and the Director Medical Education visited Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital at Tanda in Kangra district on Saturday to review its functioning and interact with patients and the medical staff.
The Chief Secretary held a detailed discussion with the principal and the faculty members of the medical college on long-pending matters. He assured them that all feasible issues would be resolved at the earliest in coordination with senior officers, with a view to strengthen infrastructure, service delivery and patient care.
The officers also inspected the Surgery Department, High Dependency Unit (HDU) and the Obstetrics and Gynaecology wards of the hospital. They interacted with patients, doctors and the nursing staff and reviewed the availability of essential services, patient care mechanisms and the overall functioning of the units.
The college principal, Dr Milap Sharma, along with senior doctors Dr Sanjeev Sharma and Dr Niraj Gupta, briefed the visiting officers on the institution’s achievements, ongoing initiatives and areas requiring attention in various departments.
