Solan road not metalled

Shopkeepers at Sayari Bazaar in Solan are facing inconvenience because of dust. A portion of the road had sunk during the monsoon. The PWD has reconstructed it, but has the stretch has not been metalled. As a result, the passing vehicles leave behind a cloud of dust, which settles down on the articles displayed at the shops. The stretch should be metalled soon. – Ravinder, Sayari

Tourists walk in middle of road

The Hassan Valley between Dhalli and Kufri is packed with tourists these days. This area is wide, but the tourists can be seen wandering in the middle of the road. Goa students meet Governor

Students of Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim, called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan. The students were on an educational tour to Himachal Pradesh. The Governor told students about the history and culture of the state. The students also shared their tour experience with the Governor.

National Mathematics Day celebrated

The mathematics department of BTC DAV College, Banikhet, Dalhousie, celebrated National Mathematics Day. Principal Ranju Bala Patiyal inaugurated the function. Poster-making, rangoli-making and Powerpoint presentation competitions were organised. In the poster-making competition, Ansuhal and Saloini were adjudged first and second, respectively. In the rangoli-making competition, the first position was shared by Shivali, Manish, Anjali and Rohit, while the second place by share by Anushka, Sarita, Jeevan and Manita. In the Powerpoint presentation, the first position was secured by Saloini and second by Vikrant.

Winter break for Kullu schools from Jan 3

The government has approved a winter break of 17 days for government and private schools of Kullu, affiliated to the HP Board of School Education. The break will commence from January 3 and end on January 20. The schools have been directed to provide online study material to students through Har Ghar Pathshala programme.
