Remove garbage from Panchrukhi roads

Heaps of garbage can be seen lying around on the roads in Panchrukhi town. Garbage in the town is increasing every day. Shopkeepers and residents dump waste along the roadside. The government should make local authorities liable for not being able to manage solid waste in their respective areas. Many people visit the Sobha Singh Art Gallery, and heaps of garbage are tarnishing the image of the tourist state. — Satish Sharma, Panchrukhi

Check multi-storey buildings in Shimla

The collapse of a building at Kacchi Ghati should be as an eye-opener for residents, administration and the government. One can see seven-eight storeyed buildings at many places in the city. Students visit power station

Students of Government Senior Secondary School, Karian, were taken on an education tour to a power station under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programme celebrated by NHPC’s Chamera-II power station in Chamba district. Addressing the students, power station general manager SK Sandhu said as per the guidelines of the government and the NHPC, tours were being organised to encourage skill development among students. Sandhu said progress of the country was dependent on the progress of students. Therefore, the students work with dedication, he said.

National Apprenticeship Fair organised at ITI

A national apprenticeship fair was organised at the local ITI for spreading awareness among various stakeholders about implementation of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vinod Dhiman was the chief guest and municipal council vice-president Seema Kashyap was the special guest. ITI principal Bipan Sharma, who is also member secretary, District Level Apprenticeship Committee, gave a presentation on various aspects for implementation of the apprenticeship promotion scheme. Prizes were given to winners of the ITI activities.

ABVP-Koti gets prez, secy

Deepak and Sonam were elected the president and the secretary, respectively, of the ABVP unit in Koti. On the occasion, chief guest Anil Sharma spoke about the history of the ABVP and how it had been participating in nation-building and social welfare since its inception.
