Hospital residential quarters in dilapidated condition

Residential quarters of the state health department in Jawali are in a dilapidated condition. These houses, meant for doctors and staff of the local civil hospital, are unfit to live. The walls have developed cracks and slate roofs of some rooms are also in a bad shape. Wearing a deserted look, these houses are surrounded by weeds and bushes. As a result, doctors and staff are forced to live in expensive rented houses in Jawali and the surrounding areas. The health department should repair its property. — Ravi Kumar, Jawali

Erratic water supply in Dharamsala

The water supply in the upper Dharamsala region remains erratic. Even though most hotels and restaurants are closed, many areas in McLeodganj are not getting adequate supply of drinking water. The area near the Dalai Lama’s abode was getting water supply for just one hour in a day. The pipelines in many areas were damaged and the IPH officials did not turn up, despite multiple complaints from the residents. The IPH officials should be held accountable for the irregular water supply. — RM Sharma, McLeodganj
