He said the parking lot was constructed on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and the operator had to pay fees to the civic body every year.

The Municipal Commissioner said the matter was under arbitration.

He said an amount of Rs 10.17 crore was pending towards the operator, of which Rs 1 crore was received last year.

Meanwhile, parking lot operator Gaurav Sood claimed as the matter was under arbitration, nothing much could be said about it.

The multi-storied parking lot that was inaugurated in 2016 by the then Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has a capacity for 653 vehicles.

Constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 56 crore, it is one of the biggest parking lots of the town.

The Shimla Municipal Corporation will soon start online booking of parking slots for the convenience of tourists.
