CJM students visit HPU’s Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Department
V-C urges students to push boundaries with interdisciplinary learning
Students and faculty members of the Convent of Jesus and Mary (CJM) School, Chelsea, today visited the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), for an educational exposure programme.
The visit involved an enriching exchange of ideas, highlighting the importance of data-driven education and innovation in the emerging quantum era.
During the visit, Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, HPU, emphasised the paradigm shift in the modern world from the classical to the quantum era. He said, “We are moving from the classical to the quantum era. In this transformation, data plays a vital role. If data is wrong, it will produce wrong results. Therefore, accurate and reliable data is the foundation of innovation and progress.”
Encouraging students to broaden their intellectual horizons, the V-C added, “Do not limit yourself to your own subject. Cross the boundary and explore other disciplines.
“True success comes when you integrate knowledge from multiple fields,” he concluded.
The session urged students to think beyond conventional boundaries and to embrace interdisciplinary learning.
