Class XII student dies by suicide in Shimla

A Class XII student allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself in his room in Shimla, citing poor performance in academics as the reason for the step.

According to reports, the incident took place in Phagli area in Shimla. The deceased’s father, upon reaching home, found the door locked from inside. When he looked into the room from the window, he found his son hanging from the ceiling. He broke the door to enter the house and informed the police.

A police team from Boileauganj reached the spot and upon searching for evidence, found a note. The boy had mentioned that he was stressed due to his poor performance in academics.

The body was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem, after which it was handed over to his relatives for cremation.

Police officials confirmed the reports and said a case under Section 194 of Bharatya Nagrik Surakhsa Sanhita (BNSS) 2023 has been registered and further investigation is going on.
