CM: BJP responsible for degradation of health, education sector in state
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held the BJP accountable for the degradation of the health and education sectors in Himachal Pradesh, claiming that both areas were neglected during its tenure. While speaking at a public gathering in Hadeta village of the Nadaun constituency on Saturday, Sukhu said it was unfortunate that the state ranked 18th in the national education index. He assured the public that his government was dedicated to providing better health facilities and improving health infrastructure to ensure quality services for the people.
Sukhu also highlighted the government’s plan to develop Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College and Hospital into a state-of-the-art medical institution near Thai village in the Nadaun constituency. He added that he directed the Health Department to procure world-class equipment for the medical college. Additionally, a cancer care institute and a nursing college would be set up near the medical college.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of Economic Development and Livelihood Generation Project (Navjeevan) near Hadeta village. He stated that the project would be developed at a cost of Rs 4 crore, with Rs 2 crore already released, and the remaining funds would be provided soon. Sukhu also assured that all narrow roads in the district were being widened and assured to fulfil all the demands made by the local gram panchayat.
