CM declares holiday on Parshuram Jyanti
Dharamsala, January 9
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, at a function organised by the Brahmin Sabha, asked Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati to identify land for building Parshuram Sadan in Kangra. He also directed the officials to work out proposal for starting a Sanskrit school on the Bajjreshwari temple premises.
The CM lauded the work being done by the Brahmin Sabha, Kangra, to help the poor. Various leaders of the Brahmin Sabha thanked the CM for declaring holiday on Parshuram Jyanti. He also announced Rs 21 lakh grant for the Brahmin Sabha.
Minister for Health Vipin Parmar, Minister for Town and Country Planning Sarveen Chaudhary and various MLAs from Kangra district were present at the function.
A close aide of the CM Munish Sharma from Kangra had played a pivotal role in organising the programme in Kangra.
The CM said the Modi government was working for the welfare of the poor and had floated schemes that were benefiting them directly.
He said the abolition of Article 370 that had unified Jammu and Kashmir was a historic step taken by the government. The opposition was trying to disseminate wrong information regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The Act was meant to give citizenship to minorities from neighbouring countries who had been staying in India for more than 5 years before 2014. There was no provision in the CAA to take away citizenship of anybody, he said. — TNS
