Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 197 crore in the Seraj Assembly segment of Mandi district through video-conferencing from Shimla today.
In the Thunag area, Thakur laid the foundation stone of a Rs 95 lakh double-storey building of Type-II quarters of HPSEB Ltd, Rs 1.12 crore augmentation project of 33/22KV electric sub-station, a Rs 3.18 crore silk seed production centre building, a Rs 5.50 crore sewerage scheme for Thunag and surrounding areas, the construction of buildings of government senior secondary schools at Bharari, Shikawari and Bagsiad at a cost of Rs 2.51 crore, Rs 3.85 crore and Rs 4.24 crore, respectively, a science lab-cum-multipurpose hall to be built at a cost of Rs 8.35 crore at Government Degree College, Lambathach.
He also laid the foundation stone of a community centre building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.11 crore, a Rs 6.33 crore Thunag-Lambasafar road project under the PMGSY, a Rs 6.58 crore Rille Chendi-Karshwali road project under NABARD, construction of additional accommodation at the rest house at Bagsiad at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore, and the Rs 10.62 crore work on the Bagsaid Rahidhar-Kathyali Dhanwar Shikari Mata road.
For the Janjehli area, he laid the foundation stone of 11 development projects worth Rs 58 crore, including a 19.75 metre span single lane bridge at Keolinal in Dheem Kataroo gram panchayat to be built at a cost of Rs 1.41 crore, improvement and upgrade of the Janjehli Magrugala Billagad Chhatri road under the PMGSY at Rs 22.63 crore, improvement and upgrade of the Janjehli Raigarh Shikari Mata road under the PMGSY at Rs 13.78 crore, a sewerage scheme for Janjehli and its surrounding areas to be built at a cost of Rs 6.80 crore, construction of the building of government senior secondary school, Shankar Dehra, for Rs 1.16 crore, a combined office building at Janjehli for Rs 10.22 crore, building of Government Sericulture Centre at Deem Kataru at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, a Rs 43 lakh flow irrigation scheme for Janjehli (Bhekhali) cluster under the Horticulture Development Project, a Rs 26.35 lakh flow irrigation scheme for Riyada-2 cluster under the HP Horticulture Development Project and additional accommodation in the Forest Rest House at Baila to be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
Besides, he performed the foundation stone-laying ceremonies of nine development projects at Chhatri worth Rs 46 crore. For Kelodhar, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 14 development projects worth of Rs 28 crore. He said that the state government was focusing on equitable development in the entire state and efforts were on in this direction.
