CM lays stone of Rs 190-cr projects in Ghumarwin

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of development projects worth about Rs 190 crore at Bharari in Ghumarwin of Bilaspur district today. He addressed a public meeting and said the government was ensuring equitable development of the state, with special focus on the areas that had remained neglected.
The Chief Minister inaugurated additional accommodation in PWD Rest House, Ghumarwin, constructed at a cost of Rs 72 lakh. He laid foundation stones worth Rs 53.32 crore for various Lift Water Supply Schemes for the constituency under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs 21.17 crore for mini secretariat building at Ghumarwin, Rs 6.50-crore science block at Government College, Ghumarwin, Rs 4.35-crore multi-purpose hall at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Ghumarwin and Rs 2.51 crore for the building of Government Senior Secondary School, Bharari.
He also laid a foundation stone of Rs 2.39 crore augmentation work of 33/11 KV manned Sub Station Naswal under HPSEB Ltd, Ghumarwin division, Rs 1.33 crore for the construction of an e-library hall at Swami Vivekananda Government Degree College, Ghumarwin, and a municipal council parking at Ghumarwin, to be constructed.
The Chief Minister performed Bhumi Pujans for upgrade of Dadhol-Ladraur Road via Bharari to intermediate standard, to be completed by spending Rs 82 crore, Rohal Khud to Ghandalwin road via Lehri Sarail at Rs 5.50 crore and Mehra-Nain-Jalaun-Pangwara-Talai-Takrehra Road, to be constructed at Rs 2.52 crore.
Thakur said it was for the first time that Ghumarwin had got representation in the state Cabinet.
Taking a dig at the Congress leaders, Thakur said when his government was busy fighting the pandemic, the Congress leaders were politicising the sensitive issue and even opposed the decision of the state government to bring back about 2.5 lakh youth stranded in different parts of the country by alleging that the government was bringing Covid to the state.
