CM lays stones of Rs113 cr projects in Chamba

The three-year rule of the BJP government is full of achievements and accomplishments, and all this has been possible due to the active cooperation and support of the people of the state. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said this today while addressing a public meeting at the historic Chamba Chowgan after laying the foundation stones of development projects worth about Rs 113 crore in the Chamba Assembly constituency.

He announced the opening of a PWD subdivision and a Junior Engineer (JE) section for Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital, Chamba. He said that the work of the medical college would be expedited.

Thakur said that Chamba is a backward and remote district of the state and the government had accorded top priority to its all-round development. The Union Government had also given special status to Chamba district to ensure its rapid development.

He laid the foundation stones for the upgrade of the Sarol Masroond Pukhri and Meredi Silliagharat roads to be constructed at a cost of Rs 26.52 crore and Rs 13.68 crore, respectively, under the PMGSY-II. These roads would benefit over 45,000 persons of 11 panchayats of the area. He also laid the foundation stones of various other roads.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of vendor shops in Kasakra Mohalla of Chamba town. He said that these vendor shops would go a long way in decongesting the town. He added that the parking complex would have the capacity of accommodating over 350 vehicles. MLAs Vikram Jaryal, Jia Lal Kapoor, and Pawan Nayyar were present on the occasion.
