CM: Multipurpose building to come up in Vikasnagar
Shimla, September 2
While presiding over a meeting of senior officers of the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) here today, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said HIMUDA would construct a state-of-the-art multipurpose building in Vikasnagar, Shimla. “The proposed complex will be one of most modern buildings in Shimla to be built on a 10-bigha plot of land at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 150 crore,” he said.
Sukhu said that this complex would house government offices, a shopping complex, a hotel and two floors dedicated to parking. “The groundbreaking ceremony for this project is scheduled on January 1, 2025, and the construction is expected to be completed within 18 months,” he said.
The Chief Minister said its architecture would reflect the rich heritage and culture of the state and it would be a green and eco-friendly building. He directed officers to prepare the preliminary Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project at the earliest. He asked HIMUDA to expedite the construction process and ensure timely completion of the project.
Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthy, MLA Harish Janartha, Vice Chairman HIMUDA Yashwant Chhajta, Chief Executive Officer HIMUDA Sandeep Kumar, Director Town and Country Planning Kamal Kant Saroch, and senior officials of the department were also present in the meeting.
