Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today directed Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena to seek explanation from IPS Shivani Mehla for not joining as SP, Lahaul and Spiti. She was posted as SP Lahaul and Spiti on August 13, but she hasn’t joined yet. She is currently working as ASP, Chamba.

The CM directed the Cabinet Secretary to seek explanation from the officer while he was issuing instruction from New Delhi to the administration of Chamba, Kullu, Lahaul and Spiti, Kangra and Mandi to speed up the rescue and relief operation and restore the key damaged infrastructure, including the snapped communication services.

During the virtual meeting, the CM sought information about the stranded Manimahesh yatris and the relief and restoration work. He was informed that all devotees were safe and were being provided food, shelter, first aid, etc. He was further informed that the services of Jio, Airtel and BSNL had been restored in Chamba town, upon which he told the officials to restore these services in other parts of the district, particularly in Bharmour, as well.
