Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today sent out a firm message that no one would be allowed to undermine law and order in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to reporters on his arrival in Una, he referred to the recent shootout incidents in the district, which claimed the lives of several young men, and said the public would soon see decisive action against those responsible.
Responding to questions on the timing of Panchayati Raj elections, Sukhu underlined that the Election Commission and the state government have clearly defined and separate responsibilities. He noted that the Disaster Management Act remains in force across the state in the aftermath of the widespread monsoon devastation.
The CM was in Una to attend the wedding ceremony of the Deputy Chief Minister’s daughter, who married Amb SDM Sachin Sharma. Congress leaders NP Rajiv Shukla and Rajni Patil were also present, along with several senior state functionaries.
