CM targets Kaul Singh over development in Darang

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today targeted senior Congress leader Kaul Singh over development issue in Darang assembly segment of Mandi district. He said that Kaul Singh neglected the development of Darang assembly segment, which he represented for a long time.

The Chief Minister said that the previous leadership of the area, who represented the constituency several times, did nothing for development of the area, except misguiding people by false promises and tall claims. He said that the three-and-a-half year tenure of the state government has ensured unprecedented development of Darang area.

Targeting the Kaul Singh, the CM suggested the BJP MLA from Darang Jawahar Thakur to request the Congress leader from the area to take a round of Darang constituency to get the first-hand information about the unprecedented development the area witnessed during the BJP regime in the state.

“Kaul Singh was a health minister in the previous Congress regime but he failed to equip the state with better health facilities. During Congress regime there were 1,200 beds in the health institutions in the state, which, in a short period of time, have been increased to about 5,000 by the present BJP regime to combat the Covid crisis,” the CM said.

“Similarly, there was only one oxygen plant in the state in the IGMC, Shimla, during the Congress regime, whereas the state now has set up 10 functional oxygen plants and 28 more were being set up,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister said that the state government had ensured equitable and balanced development of the state. He said that senior Congress leader, who represented Darang area several time, was questioning the development in the area.

He said that Kaul Singh should not issue baseless statements. He said the state government during the Covid-19 pandemic ensured that no one suffered for want of health facilities. The state had only 50 ventilators when the pandemic broke out, but today the state has over 600 ventilators.

The Chief Minister urged the public to support BJP candidate in Mandi Lok Sabha byelection due later this year.
