The Health and Family Welfare Department of Chamba organised a monthly review meeting of Block Medical Officers (BMOs) on Friday. The meeting was chaired by CMO Dr Bipen Thakur.
During the meeting, Dr Thakur reviewed the monthly reports submitted by the BMOs and assessed the progress of health-related schemes and activities under the Aspirational District Programme. He emphasised improving progress and directed BMOs to focus on maintaining cleanliness, patient care and biomedical waste management in health facilities.
District Health Officer Dr Jalam Singh discussed the ongoing programmes under the National Health Mission, including the Reproductive and Child Health Programme, Immunisation Programme, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Programme, Tuberculosis Control Programme and Health Management Information System (HMIS).
He also reviewed the block-level activities of health and wellness centres and urged officials to ensure these programmes reach every individual. Dr Singh stressed the importance of raising awareness about government welfare schemes so that more people can benefit from them.
Other attendees included District Programme Officer Dr Vaibhavi, Block Medical Officer of Kihar Dr Suresh, BMO Pukhri Dr Navdeep Rathour, BMO Choori Dr H.P. Singh, Senior Medical Officer Dr Mohan Singh, Dr Sunita, Dr Shiv Raj, Dr Vivek, and health supervisors from various blocks.
