The School of Law, Shoolini University, organised a colloquium to mark the 70th anniversary of the Constitution of India. The theme was Article 51A (h), which aimed at developing scientific temper, humanism and spirit of inquiry and reform. Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Judge, HP High Court, was the chief guest. Justice SS Thakur, a former judge, HP High Court, was also present. The experts spoke on the theory of karma and the laws of motion and its need in the current scenario.

Change in application process

A few changes have been made in the online process for applying for admission to MBBS and BDS courses for 2020-21 due to administrative reasons. As per the altered schedule, the online process for applying for these courses will be available from November 5 to 11 on www.hpuniv.ac.in and https:/hp.online-counselling.co.in. For a detailed information, the prospectus will be available on the websites from November 5. Students need to submit the documents as mentioned in the prospectus.

Declare results early, says SFI

The SFI has submitted a memorandum to the Dean of Studies stating that not more than 35 to 40 per cent students have been able to upload their CPGA by November 2, the last date. The SFI said the reason was the delay in the results of the re-appear exams. The SFI said since the UGC had made it clear that universities could start their session from November 30, HPU should conduct entrance tests for admission to PG courses.

The SFI further demanded that the results of the students be declared at the earliest.

Demand to relax age limit for govt jobs

The NSUI submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the DC here seeking a relaxation in the age limit for government jobs owing to the pandemic, especially in the recruitment of police force which could not be held this year. The other demands included relaxation of 50 per cent in fee in universities and colleges, and conduct of entrance tests for admission to PG courses.
