Complete urban development works in time: Himachal minister Rajesh Dharmani
Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani today directed Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) officials to promptly act on the issues and plans discussed so that projects were expedited and completed within the time frame.
Dharmani presided over the 54th meeting of the Board of Directors of HIMUDA here. He highlighted HIMUDA’s ongoing efforts to introduce new schemes in various sectors and urged officials to work with dedication for the effective implementation of development projects.
He emphasised the importance of innovative ideas and encouraged the engagement of geologists, environmentalists and landscaping consultants to improve project outcomes. He stressed the need for HIMUDA to resolve land-related issues pending in courts, enabling the timely commencement and completion of projects.
The board approved several key initiatives, including the installation of a drinking water supply line and the construction of a water tank of 15 lakh litre capacity in the proposed Jathiya Devi mountain city, near here.
Besides, the construction of flats in Housing Board Colonies in Bilaspur, Sanjauli (Shimla) and Shimla and two twin towers in Basal of Solan district were agreed upon. The board also resolved to create standard operating procedures for the purchase of land by HIMUDA and approved other agendas.
The board also reviewed ongoing and proposed projects in the state, including for Saraswati Nagar, Dehra, Subathu, Nerchowk, zoo in Bankhandi and a command and control centre to be set up in Dharamsala.
