Cong ex-MLA PSO’s name okayed for gallantry medal
The name of Sanjeev Kumar, Personal Security Officer (PSO) of former Congress MLA Bumber Thakur, is being recommended for the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), a prestigious honour awarded by the Central Government for acts of exceptional courage in protecting the nation and its citizens.
He has been recommended for his bravery during the shooting incident that took place in Bumber Thakur’s residence during Holi celebrations in which he and Bumber sustained injuries.
Acknowledging the exceptional bravery and dedication displayed by Sanjeev in the line of duty, the IPS Association, Himachal Pradesh Chapter, stated that his courageous actions in safeguarding lives during a critical incident had brought immense pride to the police force of Himachal.
In a press statement issued by Director General of Police (DGP) Atul Verma, he stated that Sanjeev Kumar’s timely and decisive actions during the challenging situation not only prevented potential harm but also ensured public safety, showcasing the highest standards of bravery and professionalism.
