The Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government in the state failed on every front and fooled people of the state with false guarantees made before the 2022 Assembly elections, said Vipin Parmar, BJP in-charge of Kangra parliamentary constituency at a press conference at Jawali on Wednesday evening. He said the commemoration of two years of the Sukhu government without any achievement was another bid to mislead innocent people. Lashing out at the state government, Parmar said the Congress government had taken a loan of Rs 25,000 crore in the past two years of its regime and the state's debt burden had swelled to the danger mark of Rs 96,000 crore. “Notwithstanding levying taxes and other charges on common man, this government has failed to disburse salaries to employees and monthly pension to government pensioners on time. Moreover, all development activities have come to halt during the past two years," he said. The chief minister is focusing only on one or two Assembly constituencies for carrying out development whereas constituencies being represented by BJP MLAs have been neglected,” he alleged.

Parmar said Rs 1,500 was promised to 28 lakh women but now even after putting a number of riders, the government had not fulfilled this guarantee of the Congress. “Thousands of women who have submitted their forms in government offices across the state for availing the benefits of the HP Indira Gandhi Mahila Samman Nidhi Yojana before Lok Sabha elections are feeling ditched," he said. "The government has not procured cow dung and milk from the farmers by giving them rates committed in the pre-poll guarantees. The people are still waiting for 300 free electricity units per month,” he continued.

He said the government in spite of celebrating its two-year regime should conduct self-introspection and ensure fulfillment of all guarantees in the coming year. Parmar also expressed gratitude to the High Court for unseating Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPSs) on whom Rs 6 crore had been spent from the government treasury. Parmar was at Jawali for the formation of polling booth committees of the BJP.
