Cong govt pushed state into debt trap but still celebrating 2-year rule: Bindal
BJP state president Rajeev Bindal today flayed the Congress for the proposed celebration of its two years in power when its government had pushed the state into a debt trap and its lone achievement was fooling people.
Bindal, while addressing mediapersons here, said, “Potholes in roads are being filled with soil and all development works have come to a halt.”
He said that the BJP would hold protests in all districts of the state from December 7 to 10 to expose the failures of the Congress government in the past two years. “The BJP will also hold a protest at Dharamsala on the first day of the winter session of the Assembly on December 18. Protests will be held at Una and Chamba on December 7, at Kullu and Sirmaur on December 8, at Sirmaur and Solan on December 9 and at Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Mandi and Solan.
Bindal said, “A protest will be held in Shimla on December 10 and all senior leaders of all Congress organisations, former ministers, MPs and MLAs will take part in it. On the first day of the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha on December 18, the BJP will stage a dharna in Dharamsala against the failures of the government.”
He said, “In two years, Himachal has been pushed on the verge of bankruptcy and the Congress is celebrating the destruction of the state.” He took a jibe at Sukhu and said that the Congress government had done a great job of harassing the public by allocating Cabinet ranks to his friends and giving them all comforts. “After the Congress assumed power, the law and order in the state has deteriorated. ‘Samosa’ investigation is going on in the state. The price of cement has increased by Rs 45 under the Congress government, water bills are being collected in villages and the facility of free electricity has been withdrawn but still the Congress wants to celebrate its two years in power.”
Bindal said that MP Priyanka Gandhi, Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had stated in the run up to the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2022 that in the very first Cabinet meeting, various promises would be fulfilled but more than 100 Cabinet meetings had been held but the Congress government had done nothing about unemployment nor it had given Rs 1,500 per month to all women above 18 years of age
He said that the government had taken a record loan of Rs 2,8 000 crore in the past two years but still the Congress was celebrating. The government had closed about 1,500 institutions and opened all new offices in Dehra, the Assembly constituency of the Chief Minister’s wife, Kamlesh Thakur. BJP will raise these issues before the public from December 7 to 10, he added.
