Cong promised 300 units free power but withdrawing 125 units subsidy: Jai Ram
Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today criticised the Congress government for withdrawing the 125 units free power subsidy, especially when it had promised to provide 300 units free before the 2022 Assembly elections.
Thakur, in a statement issued here, said that the Congress had come to power on the back of the 10 guarantees it made to people before the Assembly elections but now failed to honour them. “The Congress is now going back on its election promises. On the contrary, it is burdening common people by withdrawing subsidies and imposing taxes. Taking the plea of the poor financial health of the state is totally wrong as the Congress should have remembered the financial conditions before making the promises,” he added.
Thakur said that the Congress should clarify its position on the guarantee of giving 300 units of free electricity to the people of the state. “It appears that all guarantees given by the Congress were false and meant only to grab power. The Congress is repeating the same lies and guarantees in the Haryana Assembly elections only to attain power on false promises,” he added.
