Mast Ram (75), former Congress MLA from Karsog, was cremated at his native Nihri village in Mandi district today.

A large number of people, his relatives and supporters turned up at the cremation ground to pay him last respect. Karsog MLA Hira Lal also attended his cremation.

Mast Ram committed suicide yesterday in a hotel room at Sundernagar. His body was found hanging in the room. The post-mortem on the body was conducted this morning. He remained the Congress MLA from Karsog in 1993 and 2003.
