Shimla, February 8
State BJP president Rajeev Bindal today said that in its 14-month rule, the Congress government had done little development work in the state and failed to create employment opportunities, as promised before the last Assembly elections.
Bindal, while addressing mediapersons here, alleged that the performance of the Congress government had been dismal and every section of society was disappointed with it. “The first decision of the Congress regime was to close 1,000 institutions, which the previous BJP government had opened in public interest. The Congress government has shut around 1,400 institutions during its 14-month rule,” he added.
Bindal claimed that in the past 14 months, the government had not provided even one job. “On the contrary, 12,000 people have lost their jobs since the Congress came to power. Employees appointed on the outsourced basis have lost their jobs,” he added.
He said that the Congress government had promised to fill 67,000 vacant posts. “After assuming power, the Congress had stated that one lakh jobs will be approved in the first Cabinet meeting. Rather than fulfilling the 10 guarantees made to people before the last Assembly elections, the Congress is taking anti-people decisions,” he added.
