Congress leader and member of the Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission, Vijay Pal Singh, reiterated his deep-rooted commitment to the people of Seraj during two public events in Mandi district — the closing ceremony of Mihach Mela at Bagda Thach and a felicitation function at Panjain panchayat.
Addressing a large gathering at the Mihach Mela in scenic Seraj Valley, Singh declared himself “a son of this land,” not just a political figure. He praised traditional village fairs as powerful symbols of Himachal Pradesh’s cultural soul, contrasting their authenticity with the commercial feel of city festivals.
Emphasising the potential of rural youth, Singh stated, “Villages are full of talent — with proper guidance, these children can reach great heights.” He recalled his upbringing in Thachadhar, crediting his values to his father’s influence.
Singh commended Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s efforts to preserve cultural heritage and extend governance to remote areas. He announced that CM Sukhu would soon visit Seraj to review development needs and prioritise interventions.
Earlier, at Panjain panchayat, Singh received a grand welcome with traditional honours. He assured locals of his continued presence and stressed the need for unity and self-improvement. “Our challenge isn’t others—it’s within ourselves,” he remarked.
He praised the current leadership for recognising the region’s importance. Singh invited suggestions from the public to help choose a village in Seraj for the Chief Minister’s next visit — reinforcing his commitment to inclusive development.
In a humanitarian gesture, he also contributed Rs 5,100 to a needy family in Panjain. The events closed with renewed hope, community pride, and a call for active participation in Seraj’s growth.
