Congress to launch Jan Jagran Abhiyan in July
NURPUR, JUNE 24
AICC secretary and Congress co-incharge for party affairs in Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Dutt said the party would launch Jan Jagran Abhiyan in July.
Addressing mediapersons at Raja ka Bagh near here today, Dutt said during the abhiyan, the Congress cadre from each booth committee would visit every household to expose the “failures, poor governance and false promises” made with the people by the Jai Ram government.
The Aim
The Congress will draw the attention of people towards the failures of the BJP government on several fronts like rising inflation, unemployment, etc in the country. — Sanjay Dutt, AICC Secy, Cong co-incharge, HP
“The Congress will draw the attention of the people towards the failure of the BJP government on several fronts like rising inflation and unemployment in the country, demonetisation, faulty implementation of the GST and mishandling of Covid pandemic situation,” he said.
“Now rolling out anti-youth Agnipath recruitment policy in the Army has crushed the aspirations of the youth who intend to serve the Army,” Dutt said.
He alleged that the police recruitment paper leak case was the biggest-ever scam in the hill state and the state government had tried its best to cover it up.
He alleged that the condition of the roads was deplorable in Himachal Pradesh. The state had maximum tourism potential but the government had made no serious efforts to harness the potential.
Ridiculing the foundation stone laying ceremonies of various projects by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Dutt said it was all poll gimmicks just months before the Assembly elections.
Dutt, who convened workers’ meetings in Indora, Fatehpur and Nurpur Assembly constituencies on Friday, said these meetings had been organised in Chamba and Kangra districts with an objective of activating party cadre.
Kangra and Chamba districts comprising 20 Assembly segments were politically significant as these were holding the key for forming government, he said.
Blames BJP for inflation
Sanjay Dutt has blamed the BJP-led Union and state governments’ policies for rising inflation and unemployment. Addressing a block Congress meeting at Sihunta in Chamba, Dutt said the economy had collapsed and law and order situation was cause for concern.
Dutt added that the party was opposing the Agnipath scheme as it considered it to be anti-youth.
“The people are fed up with the anti-people policies of the state government. The Union government is misusing the Enforcement Directorate to implicate Congress leaders in false cases,” he said. Dutt called upon the workers to strengthen the booth-level committees.
Vice-president of the state Congress Election Management Committee Kuldeep Singh Pathania said the public had become aware of the BJP’s politics of lies. The party workers should not relax and gear up for Assembly election.
