In a transformative move aimed at modernising governance and enhancing law enforcement efficiency, the state police have inaugurated a state-of-the-art State Data Warehouse and Clearing Agency, marking a major leap towards data-driven policing.

In a press statement, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Atul Verma described the launch of the integrated Police Data Warehouse as not merely a technological advancement but a visionary step towards intelligent, insight-driven law enforcement.

“This centralised platform will consolidate data from all police departments and allied agencies across the state, enabling a unified and analytical view of crime trends, legal proceedings, traffic patterns, intelligence inputs and more,” he said. “By breaking departmental silos and fostering real-time collaboration, we are equipping our police force with predictive capabilities and faster, more informed decision-making tools.”

Dr Verma acknowledged the contributions of Ajay Kumar Yadav, ADGP (Crime), Mohit Chawla, DIG (Cyber Crime) and Himanshu Dev, DySP (Communication and Technical Services) for their instrumental roles in bringing the project to fruition.

He further explained that until now, police data in Himachal Pradesh was scattered across various departments and locations, making access and analysis time-consuming and inefficient. The newly commissioned State Data Warehouse and Clearing Agency aims to centralise this information, allowing district police units to retrieve critical data from a single point — significantly enhancing operational speed and effectiveness.

The system comprises eight verticals, including: NATGRID; CCTNS, ICJS, NAFIS; e-DAR, ITMS; NCORD, STF; SMAT, OSINT; NCRP; nodal unit SDWA/DDTG and PCR, helplines. “With the launch of this cutting-edge Police Data Warehouse, we are embracing a future where data empowers security, intelligence fuels justice and technology strengthens public trust,” DGP Verma concluded.
