Cooperate for smooth conduct of proceedings: Speaker to MLAs

Minutes before the beginning of the winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania appealed to the members of both the ruling and opposition benches to ensure constructive cooperation for the smooth conduct of proceedings.

He convened an all-party meeting in his office on Wednesday morning. Kewal Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Whip of the ruling party, and Sukhram Chaudhary, Chief Whip of the BJP Legislative Party, attended the meeting.

The Speaker reminded them of the dignity and rich traditions of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly and urged them to raise constituency issues effectively while remaining within the rules. He called for meaningful debates, fact-based interventions and timely responses from the government on matters raised by members.

Kuldeep Pathania assured that he would make every effort to give members adequate opportunity to speak so that the House's time is utilised for productive discussions.

He also briefed them on the House business and said matters of public interest would be given due time for deliberations.
