Himachal Pradesh on Monday reported two new cases of coronavirus, taking the state’s case tally to 413.
Solan reported the two new cases of the deadly disease, taking the total in the district to 34. Two men, who were under institutional quarantine at Barotiwala, tested COVID-positive on Monday morning.
The duo had come from Delhi to Chandigarh in a train and then taken an auto-rickshaw till Pinjore. From Pinjore to Marrawala, they took another auto-rickshaw, after which they continued their journey on foot till Baddi, earlier this month.
Health officials said that one of the men had come from Kolkata and is a resident of Gyandu Ki Dhar village in Nalagarh. The other is a resident of Haridwar in Uttrakhand and works at a cement factory in Barmana in Bilaspur.
The patients’ samples were taken on June 6 and they have been shifted to ESIC Hospital, Katha for treatment while their contact mapping at the quarantine centre was underway.
There are 18 active cases in the district, while 12 have been cured and four others had migrated to Gurgaon. The majority of the cases which have been detected since May 20 comprise of people who entered the state without permission.
