Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, Rugved Thakur, and five other officials in the district have gone under home quarantine after the Deputy Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur tested positive for COVID-19 in Shimla on Wednesday.

The officials have taken the precautionary measure as they had come in contact with the Deputy Secretary and another BJP leader during a review meeting in Shimla a few days ago. The Deputy Secretary and the BJP leader, from Mandi, tested Covid-19 positive on Wednesday.

Thakur said that “as precautionary measures, I have put myself in home quarantine for the next few days.”

The DC stated that the district administration is ensuring a close vigil over the situation and there was no need to panic.

DC Mandi, SDM Thunag Paras Agarwal, Chief Engineer PWD Dara Singh, Chief Architect Nand Lal Chandel, SE PWD Vijay Chaudhary and XEN PWD Janjehli have gone under quarantine.
