Couple killed in truck-bike collision

NURPUR, FEBRUARY 2

A truck hit a motorcycle at Indora Mor on the Pathankot-Jalandhar road last evening, killing a couple on the two wheeler.

The deceased Anil Singh (42) of Bhai-Indoria in Indora and his wife Suman (41) injured seriously and rushed to a local hospital. They were declared brought dead by doctor.

The deceased were on the way to their home from Pathankot when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck.

The couple is survived by two children. The bodies were handed over to the kin after the post-mortem examination.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sahil Arora said a hit-and-run case under Section 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act and Sections 279 and 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code had been registered against the truck driver.
