KULLU, OCTOBER 27
The Health Department has geared up information, education and communication (IEC) activities to spread Covid awareness among the masses during the Dasehra festival. The department is conducting various activities under the “Suraksha Ki Yukti, Corona Se Mukti” campaign.
A folk media event was organised on the premises of the Regional Hospital today by artistes of the Mannat Kala Manch. They spread awareness about the prevention of Covid through songs, music and street plays.
CMO Sushil Chander Sharma said people were being made aware through various activities under the campaign from October 14 to 31. The information was given about “Do Gaj Ki Doori, Mask Hai Zaruri”, “Jab Tak Davai Nahi, Tab Tak Dhilai Nahi”, symptoms of coronavirus and methods of prevention.
The CMO said the local minister had administered a pledge to residents, officials and HoDs to fight the virus. He said samples of all Devalus, kardars and others accompanying the deities during Dasehra had been taken. He said the samples of sanitisation workers, who had come for the festival, were also taken.
Navneet Bhardwaj, convener of the manch, appealed to the people to use masks, sanitise or wash hands frequently, avoid going to the crowded places and visit markets only if necessary. One should immediately approach the health centre if any Covid symptoms were spotted.
Meanwhile, the sanitisation of camps of various deities is being carried out. The police are ensuring the enforcement of the Covid norms.
