Croatian drama ‘The Doll’ to be staged in Hamirpur tomorrow
The Doll, a Croatian drama, is set to be staged at the auditorium of Gautam Group of Colleges here on September 11.
Talking about the play, Dr Rajneesh Gautam said The Doll was a world renowned work by Croatian playwright Miro Gavran. The drama would be showcased collectively under the aegis of the Language and Culture Department (Himachal Pradesh) and Sankalp Rangmandal, Shimla, he added.
He said the first show of the play would be staged on September 11 at 5.30 pm, and the second show would be organised on September 12 at 11.30 am. Saurabh Srivastava, a theatre artiste and retired IPS officer, had adapted the play into an Indian drama, he added.
Kedar Thakur, director of the play, said 14 shows would be staged in six districts of the state — Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Shimla. The play was based on artificial intelligence (AI), he added. He said the play had potential to influence everyone’s life in the future.
He added that theatre artistes Rupesh Bhimta and Yashvi Bhardwaj would perform in the lead roles in the play, while the set design would be done by Deepika Rai and Rohit Parmar, and the music composition by Rohit Kanwal.
