Shimla, September 7

Following threats, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Himachal police personnel are being deployed at Kangana Ranaut's residence in Manali where the actress is putting up these days.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Monday said the Director General of Police had been asked to undertake threat assessment to the actress. “Following this, it has now been decided that HP police security personnel will be deputed round the clock at her residence in Manali and if need be, they will accompany her wherever she travels,” said Thakur.

The CM said a communication had been received from the Union Home Ministry, conveying that a 11-member commando team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), headed by an Assistant Commandant, was on its way to Manali for deployment at her house.

“Kangana is Himachal’s daughter and we are very concerned about her safety. I am grateful to the Union Home Minister for providing her CRPF cover,” he remarked.

After Covid outbreak, Kangana has been residing at her residence in Manali from where she has been giving interviews to prominent news channels. Though she belongs to Bhambla village on the border of Mandi-Hamirpur, she has built a house in Manali.

Ranaut, who has launched an onslaught against Bollywood's big and mighty following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, she has received threats from Shiv Sena leaders.

Not the one to be cowed down by such threats, she has said that she would be landing in Mumbai on September 9 as she was "not scared of anyone".

Her parents, including father Amardeep Singh Ranaut, had demanded that the Centre should provide security to his daughter, considering the threats that she was receiving.

Her mother had even got a special puja done at her native place a few days ago to pray for her safety.
